Those offering inpatient care are hospitals, where people facing severe withdrawal symptoms might do better until they are clean. Drug addiction centers with residential facilities are also called drug rehab units. They often have medical professionals on staff supervising the treatment of their residents, but you should clarify in advance whether or not the facility you are thinking about does.Accredited Facilities Are BestDrug or alcohol withdrawal is one of the most physically and emotionally painful things you can experience. The severity of its symptoms requires that someone with professional medical training be available to monitor those undergoing it. The best way to make sure you will have proper supervision is to admit yourself to one of the accredited drug treatment centers in your area.The length of your stay in a drug rehab unit will depend both on the severity of your addictions and the various treatments with which the staff is helping you overcome them. Dont get discouraged if it takes longer than you anticipated; just compare the time you are spending with the number of healthy, substance-abuse free years your efforts will be adding to your life!
